You took a fine photo, and you gave amazing light to it. It bursts out with light, in your painting. The blues and reds and greens---even the grays---are luminous. And the light you put into the clothes---the "rivers" of light in the jeans and shirts and the darker pants---is just wonderful: It makes them all alive. And you captured the immersion in the face of the fiddler: His eyes may be blind, but he's seeing from within. And you have his lips too, from the photo. He's totally immersed in his music...And you painted real "life" inside the banjo case (or whatever instrument that's for); and I see you took out the bass, which simplifies the painting and lets us concentrate on the three men in back. A brilliant painting; the lines on the roof and wall seem to rush back towards the musicians. And the painting is filled with light and concentration. Once again, you've turned music into a wonderful visual. You do this better than almost every painter I've ever known. Wonderful.
