Description
I took a very long time to finish it...i was ill so i could not complete it earlier..
but finaly it is done %99, so there is %1 missing ...that means i am not happy with the result...modeled and rendered in max5
the story of this scene:.......i went to mosul two years ago in a scientific trip to analyze the old city of mosul ..and we were suprised that there were great buildings was built before 400 or 600 years and still there...most of it was in the ottoman period so we took pictures ,and one of these pictures was interesting so after two years i made it in 3d as it is ...that's all..the building(or what was left) exists and with the same detials with same mesures..thanks for viewing...

thanks for your supporting guys....

This is great!! I would only suggest on working on the textres closest to the camera.(stiar at bottom, and bit of wall to the right) They seem out of place to me for some reason. Maybe the sun's shadow is too crisp? But over all, this image has an excellent feel--I like it!

Great image! Far plane is excellent, but for real view you must work with details close to camera. Nice pic! Keep working!

This is a really great image. The %1 that's missing is lighting. In your scene you show a clear blue sky. The scene should be getting some yellow sunlight as a direct light, but an enormous amount of blue light pumped in from the skydome. In real-life, the shadowed areas would be VERY blue. . .here they're still sort of neutral/yellow. This is an ideal setting for GI using HDRI (high dynamic range illumination-- in 3DS 5), but can be approximated by placing a lot of lights. Also, the textures of the stone that is very near are too low-res; putting a high resolution bitmap on these will trick the viewer into thinking that this level of detail is present throught the scene. I don't mean to be too critical. . .its a great scene, and I think ruins are both more challenging and more interesting than more typical architectural modelling projects.

Great render, keep up with this quality! There is a script over at www.scriptspot.com to cure the heavy distortion of the camera, it's worth to check it out and it's for free! :-)

Maybe the places in the background where the masonry has crumbled or broken off you could make it look a bit more irregular. Especially in the upper right. It looks like it was neatly cut out with a jigsaw. Still, nice job!
