Oh dear, I don't think this tree will make it, it has been totally ring barked. What a shame to have such vandalism.

Looks like you have a few beavers nearby. I think this tree is pretty much a goner, sadly.
Cool shot, Real!

I agree. It's a bit late to try to protect it now. Either the mesh was put up too late, or the beavers around there are incredibly resourceful.

I think they should have started the wiring a little sooner, but it is a neat idea.

Looks like vandalism so sad
Faemike55
even if they put the wire up when the tree is just starting, the beaver get through the wire.

"Yes, Pa, I think we'll have to find some other building material. Those humans have been up to their vandalism again! And I'm expecting." - Ma beaver. Interesting photo showing how beavers fell a tree, and how we try to prevent it. Looks still cold where you are. Keep up the good work! :-)

It's in sad shape for sure. A neighbor when we lived at the Lake had to protect his trees like this. The beaver finally moved on.

Oh yeah, that tree is done; time to let the beavers have it...

I do not think the wire would not be an obstacle for a beaver
