Very cool energetic image :) I wonder.... is she contemplating lyrics or just digging the sound :D Your test image is just fine in size...I think Rendo has worked that out in advance for us artists, I post images in Ridiculous large sizes but the image shown before the 'open full image' and '+' button always seems reasonable in size, if that helps ;) ...great image !

I don't think you make your pictures to big but not wide enough unless you have a standard old style 640 x 480 Monitor it is OK but I have a 1920 x 1080 HD Monitor and there is a lot of wasted space to the sides at full size
