I don't know if it was real or a terrifying hallucination, but it has stuck with me. Monsters are something I am fascinated by, and through the years I've realized it's OK to explore them, even if it means finding out that they aren't the monsters we thought they were. And admitting sometimes they're far worse. Should we be afraid of the things we cannot understand? I don't think so. There probably isn't anything we can do about it anyway. Maybe we're just lab-rats to them. Maybe we're food. Maybe we're children. Maybe there's one in your room with you right now. There. Just at the periphery of your awareness. Watching. Waiting.
