Description

Thanks to all who commented on the earlier image; here is a bouquet of the whole plant to brighten up your weekend: flavia49, Faemike55, giulband, jendellas, ArtistKimberly, Richardphotos, and jocko500 As you can see, we have a very pink bush now and I had to act fast; storms moving in and supposed some snow in a few days. You can be sure these blossoms will not last long. Snow. Can you beat that. (I'm sure some of you can.) Heck of a wind storm going on right now... Look closely at the branch on the bottom left; you can see one of the thorns. This is why the shrub is "deer resistant" no doubt. So, what does a quince do? It grows quinces, more and more each year. We used one in an apple pie and it delivered a nice tart flavor. Most of them we left fall to the ground for the critters that visit the yard. (We have a resident raccoon who is so used to us that he walks past us with no rush at all. Silly bugger.) Enjoy; thanks for viewing.

I love the flowers on this bush. I can see why it would not easy to trim as those thorns look wicked. As for the raccoon, he believes he has nothing to fear from you. Contrary to the common beliefs, they often come out in the day time. This does not always mean they are sick. They just have places to go and things to do !
