Description

One of my most favourite creatures. Tegenaria gigantea aka Eratigena atrica, exposed when I was clearing my derelict bunker. I don't know why it was suddenly reclassified with an anagram of its original name! Well worth a zoom if you share my love of these gorgeous animals.

What very long legs it has, and a fantastic recording of your house-friend, Andrea. As I don't know what you mean by a derelict bunker. Hehe, we don't have any bunker. 😀

This spider looks quite huge. Excellent shot, fantastic details! A few days ago I saw a spider in my cellar, approximately 10 centimetres long and totally black.

The largest in Europe and second only to the Sun spider in speed. A fascinating creature although, perhaps, not in the kitchen.

Love this. I used to go out and collect the large grass spiders we had in the yard. Then we ended up with a beautiful tarantula. Spiders are wonderful.

Yikes! I walked into my bathroom last week and when I switched on the light and turned around there was a giant one sitting on the edge of my tub grinning at me. It was about 4 inches from toe to toe; I swear I could hear it breathing. I got a tupperware container and a piece of card and convinced it to board the relocation express, and set it outside to find a new spot to live. Great detail in this portrait of your denizen!
