Description
... still warm from its feathery heat source, this lone egg has been temporarily abandoned by its parents, who have taken a swim while Socks (the dog) eyes their movement and (goose) conversation. As curious as could be, he would swim out to see what weird creatures are making such a noise, however it's best that we retreat and let the young couple get back to their parenting.
... which stimulates curiosity as to incubation periods for Canada Goose eggs, their ability to withstand temporary temperature changes and how this potential "family" might fare in this hungry forest.

This egg, "dropped" into a slight hollow of a pond shore, shows no indication whatsoever of "nest".
A quick touch conveyed warmth and life, but a predicted freeze tomorrow night may discourage this couple from sitting around waiting for an egg to hatch... we shall see :)

An interesting photo, and a neat find! Obviously not the goose that laid the golden egg!
