Description

I'd like to know who first posted Huduce. This is a modification of it. I am only now beginning to better understand how to apply materials other than the default gray. It has taken me around 10 years, on and off, experimenting with Mojoworld.

Thank you. Seriously, though, I'll need to know who originally posted the scenes that I have modified from others. I will be posting Untended Fortress that looks like Jaybeeh may have made.

I looked it up. Huduce new sky mix IS from Bob Buttery. That's what I started with. I modified substantially. If what it resembles seems like PrutzCity, so be it, that's a coincidence. I wish I had PrutzCity. PrutzCity had larger towers didn't it? If I do have PrutzCity, I need to find it and study it. I'm just trying all kinds of substitutions with Basis Functions to see what works and what looks like what. Wirepalladin has a scene that resembles this too. Actually, many of my archived images may be mislabeled. I sincerely do not mean to not give credit where credit is due. Like Untended Fortress, I find out it came from you Woz. Anyway, as much as possible, I name my stuff from whence it came originally. If I was thinking of something else at the time, I apologize to any former artists, so set me straight. I greatly appreciate it.

MojoWorld was designed to make resource sharing easy, SenJi-san - you can't actually steal anything. Everyone here is inspired by everyone else's work.

It's funny - you've been a Renderosity member since 2004 but have only posted two pictures to your gallery - how long have you been working with MJW?

As the posting of this picture indicates......It has taken me around 10 years, on and off, experimenting with Mojoworld. I work with many other programs, including music, so on and off means work with music for 2 weeks to 2 months, work with MJW 2 weeks to 2 months, work with Max 3D, Lightwave, Vue, Bryce 7, FL Studio. When using dial-up, I had absolutely no intention of uploading pictures. The next 10 years saw an eventual upgrade to DSL when it was available. I have a zillion amateur pictures that aren't worth posting, but some may be worth it as I was interested mainly in the geometric aspect of MJW as in Geometric Fumaroles. Some people may be interested in those. When it came to materials, I was at a loss. I stuck with default gray with medium specularity. I also use Artmatic Designer and Voyager on the Mac. That is NOT a simple graphics program to figure out, but it makes incredible scenes "like" MJW, especially cityscape scenes. Recently my Mac broke down and am considering what to do. The older Mac Pros [NOT MacBookPro] seems like the most sensible answer. Any kind of rendering takes time, so back in the day, when I was starting out, MJW was HORRIBLY slow, and so I rarely used it. Now I have a MUCH faster computer, so working with MJW is MUCH more enjoyable. Unfortunately, I never upgraded to 3.1, and as Pandromeda is now defunct, I'm stuck with what I have. I try to push its boundaries as much as I know how and/or just plain experiment until it crashes. As a result, some of the scenes I want to do are relegated to 3.1, which I cannot do. The alternatives to MJW and Artmatic are very few and far between. Terragen IS an option, but my goodness, you need a degree in rocket science. Vue has it's limitations. This one guy, Christian, has a posting on Vue that is absolutely incredible, using Infinite terrain. I have no idea how he did it. As far as being a member, I was just looking, admiring the masters, seeing what was possible. Fortunately I downloaded a LOT of files to check them out for myself. Other than that, I had a life, working with high-tech companies. Watching the internet grow from infancy.

Oh, and I'm Latvian. That keeps me very busy socially whenever events take place. Armands Auseklis, who worked with Pandromeda, is Latvian. Now there was a master!
