Description

Bob, the maintenance man for the electric forklift stopped by to give it the quarterly inspection. A little bit later he came to the office and asked how we felt about D-Con.. Puzzled, we answered fine. Bob then asked me to come with him. I followed, taking my camera with me. He told me he found a mouse nest in the electrical box on the forklift. Then I saw it! it is about 5 inches in length and about 2.5 inches deep. here it is:

Poor little mice. I know you can't let them eat everything. But poor little mice.

Amazing where they will build a nest isn't it. A fine capture . Maybe they liked to go for a ride on the forklift. 😄

Typical of them doing that we have had a nest in our lift also years ago at a former job. Thanks for sharing.

when I was living in Houston, I was taking care of some car washes and one out in the countryside always had ants shorting out the equipment. it was a regular trip to replace the components .

great capture

It is just insane how small a space mice need to get into some place. I had a garden tractor I would have sworn was mouse proof, but every winter, they would bet in behind the flywheel and build their nest and every spring when I wanted to start using it again, I had this nightmare to clean out. It would involve removing the engine from the tractor and tearing the shroud off to get at their nasty habitat! Needless to say, I have no fond memories of what damage mice can do.

What atrocious housekeeping! If it is abandoned D-Con should not be necessary. Just have him clean it out.

Typical. I had mice nesting in the type trays - they'd arranged the lead letters into a heap with a hollow in the middle and then added paper (from the printing press tympans) and other stuff for comfort.

I have boxes and containers still packed from last year's move, and I think some mice have made a home among them. I've yet to clear that space out.

They can be enterprising little devils, like beavers. Interesting find, Mike.

Yes, the truck will probably not used very often? I also have many mice as roommates. Right now nibbling just another above me in the attic of the floorboards.Fascinating to see, this photo!
