I couldn't go any longer without commenting, and though I'm only doing a smattering of them right now, I had to comment on your work, as it's been entirely too long. I hope to do a longer session soon.
Choosing just one image after an absence isn't easy: I don't choose this because I think any less of your others, but because I just love your humor as well as your skill in this one. You have a pop art side to you that I love. I love the in-your-face way about this image: the daring look in the lady's eyes, the heart glasses---as if she's trying to pass herself off as an innocent teen, when she's anything but---the chest-out I dare you stance, and your wonderful way of coordinating things here. I love the ice cream cone, its deep chocolate, and how it seems to be lighting up the lamp; and how you echo that hue in other parts of the piece (the stairway rails on the right, the roof in the background, the trim on that houseboat or whatever that is, etc). I love the heavy pregnant sky. And how she stands out against all those brown and pale yellow hues. And I love her skirt, with those buckles and the deep reds (and hearts---this lady is into hearts!) And her hair is a kind of mix of her heart colors and that chocolate. Really well composed, it's a riot and it's also daring and beautifully articulated. Always a pleasure to comment in your gallery. And thank you for your comments when I wasn't commenting anywhere; and for your very kind words to my last image; I don't know if I deserve them, but I appreciated them more than you know. You spread real love here, Steve, and great humor and play too, along with your genuine artistic vision a skills. Always a pleasure to be here, no exceptions. I hope all is well with you!
