Written by King John of England in 1215, The Magna Carta acknowledges that no one in society is above the law. Not the King or his subjects, not the government or the governed. It is a medieval foundation stone of constitutional and parliamentary government to this day.

Thanks for posting this. It looks a bit difficult to read due to small writing. Interesting seal. Now, if everyone could read this (especially politicians and un-elected bureaucraps) and act accordingly! This world would be a better place. Keep up the good work! :-)

A fine shot of this ground breaking document. English speaking people are blessed to have over 800 years of building our democratic traditions. When the nobles forced John to sign the Great Charter they thought they were guaranteeing their own rights. Little did they know that this would be the cornerstone to liberty for billions !
