Description
Still at the Hughes house in Cape Blanco. I liked the arrangement of these objects & the way the light fell on them - it transported me back to a simpler, quieter time & style of life...

Wow that has Quaker written all over it. Love the contrast and simplicity created by the back lighting.

I love the quality of the light coming through the curtains; how lovely!

oh yes, this is really nostalgic. I especially love the way the lighting is with the bowl of fruit and the blue glass jars.

The second I saw this I thought, "Oh, that reminds me of that house we went through on the coast that was a dairy farm!" Uh-huh. Same house! :) The light in there is absolutely amazing. Gorgeous shot!

I've wanted to get back here sooner than this, but catching up with everyone a first time is taking me longer and longer these days, esp with things I have to do outside of RR. I still have a couple of artists to visit, but I wanted to come back here before anymore time passed because there's so much here that I haven't spoken to yet. I love sitting with your work and inner eye.
Your light is beautiful here, as tara and others have said. And you have a gentle grained softness too, which helps draw out the beautifully aged atmosphere. It's very subtly done. And there's a greenish-yellow patina too, which makes it day-ish, but also reflective, inward. Your composition/crop centers that beautiful lamp perfectly, which of course stands out because of its buttery honey-yellow. And very sweet light on the fruit, jars, etc. (I like that one drawer's open too. A little entry into a private place...) And we can make out some of the lacework in the curtain...A restful, gentle vision, in your hands---hard to picture an iPhone in this scene. Very thoughtfully done. Proof that you have many sides; this is a completely different feel and look from your more bursting-hue shots, or your intense closeup-of-process shots...
