Description

Humans, "spoils of war", you ask? Ever since we learned how to throw a rock, sad, but true. I started out putting together a piece inspired by an illustration I had seen years ago called "Springheeled Jack" (I think) using Coflek Gnorg's really cool walker model "Tread Dread", but while I was doing this, I was reminded of Conan's line, in "Conan the Barbarian", when asked what is best in life..."Crush your enemies. See them driven before you. Hear the lamentations of their women." We are a contradictory species. At the same time we profess high ideals and the superiority of the species humankind, we exhibit behavior worse than the animals we consider inferior to ourselves in moral capacity and compassion. Go figure, sometimes it seems that our greatest talent is for self-delusion. Walker: Tread Dread available here at Rendo by Coflek Gnorg who does some very cool sci fi gear and sets. M4 drivers with Battle dress uniforms generously shared by Tryphon and Epsilon helmets from daz3d. "Spoils": Lorenzo Lo-rez character by PD3A at daz. Stingray assault ships by Petipet also at daz, and another excellent and inventive modeler of sci-fi models. Models posed and tweaked a bit in PoserPro14; set up, composed, effects, lighted, and texture tweaked, and rendered in Vue6Infinite; some postwork and lighting adjust in PS Cs3

First class sci-fi render. Could be a cover for Astounding Magazine.

Very well done. Reminds me of photos of exhausted German soldiers being led to prison camps both on the eastern as well the western fronts. A few hours earlier they were the dread of the world. Now, exhausted and reduced to nothing. So the question arises - why? Why war at all? The sermon in church today put the finger right on - the powerful want more power and more people to oppress and work for them. Keep up the good work! :-)

My rating - 6+

PS - do you know Rob (aka debbielove)? He needs support after Neil passed away. They were best of friends.
