Description

A few weeks ago we walked into a small town, and in the distance I saw these two sculptures. I was really fascinated, and tried to zoom in; I had to be very fast, because Karel was already farther, without knowing I was not followed. And because this is so very often the case, I need to apply real tricks to pretend, "I'm innocent". ;-) Thank you very much for your friendship.

Awesome photo of these unique and empty sculptures Mies.

You are too funny, but guessing Karel knows you are up to something, especially with a camera in hand.

Ah Mies, you make me chuckle. I often have the exact same problem although I do not even try to apply tricks and pretend I am innocent. I already know I would not get away with that. Fortunately my husband is extremely patient with me. Sometimes he teases me of being like the dag in the movie "Up" . No matter what the dog is doing it can always be distracted by a squirrel. I am like that when I see something I want to photograph. I imagine Karel is also really patient and knows what is up, but also pretends you are innocent. :)

They have so much expression even though they are so deceptively simple.

I'm sure Karel always enjoys the results of whatever you've been up to!

and all in the name of ART - LOL - as soon as laid eyes on these masks, I was reminded of the Greek Comedy & Tragedy - the happy and sad masks... 😊 & 😢 - of course I would have loved to take my paints out and added some colour (I have always been known to be the naughty little girl, when I grew up), to say the least, they should have put some lipstick on, don't you think so too GIRLS ? I am a woman and love my war paints 👄

very cool looking sculptures, Jacominchen - I like the crop... BB

Beautiful photo, and the angle of the shot is excellent. Lol, you are not alone in this, Ana Luisa (My wife) always scolds me because when I have my camera in hand I walk very slowly and very often she must wait for me.

I would have stopped for half an hour and taken several shots and just sat and stared! Fortunately for me, I don't have to trick Bill. He's probably off somewhere taking pictures and thinks I'm waiting for him! LOL!

great comments...Katherine has the same experience, Brigitte would love to paint these faces (I would too, when I was a kid), and Tara doesn't have to worry about lagging behind Bill, because Bill's photographing everything himself! This is stunning for the clarity of the mask/sculptures, and the light on them. You have wonderful light and shadow. ANd you caught the geometric feeling of their surroundings---with that ledge in front, the diagonal structure on the left side, and the forms behind the two masks. A wonderful shot of artwork, and a wonderful shot, period.
