Oh, danke schön, Ute, Ich bin sehr spät, es tut mir sehr leid...(mein Deutsch ist 'verschwunden', ja? Der Zug ist abgefahren...schon lange her...I haven't written Deutsch in many years!) I'm so sorry I missed this...I had so much to do, I didn't see your sitemail until tonight...
This is a visual feast! I recognize the view, I've walked past this place many times, and I've photographed it too...You got a really dramatic angle...and your pov puts that great-looking car at the bottom, looking into the skyline like a big blue beast. (I love that low angle.) And you've angled/tilted the edges of the skyline as if you captured it with a wide-angle lens. And then there are your hues: A bristling, bright, radiant night skyline, and very much like Chicago on a holiday or "big night". And you have a "van gogh" sky---a big rippling sky: We get skies like that in Chicago, right before a thunderstorm (gewitter---another word I remember!) ("Gewitter, Sturm"---the name of a movement from Beethoven's Pastoral-Sinfonie). So you captured Chicago in more ways then you may have realized!
It's a big glittering image, eye-popping, brilliant and fun. I love your angles. And you show your usual fine attention to clothing too, in the way the guy is dressed. (Great vest!) I wish I had hair like that (ich bin kahl, ja?) (kahlköppfig? ist das richtig? airplanes can see my head from the air...) He looks like he's out for a big night "on the town". I love this image! Thank you for this, Ute, and thank you for your very kind words, and your wishes for me, I appreciate them greatly. I'll be back as soon as I can...You continue to post some of the most imaginative, beautiful, highly articulated, joyous and dancing images on the site. It's always a pleasure to come here. Thanks again. This is wonderful---einfach wunderbar! Herzlichen Dank!
