Description
The Piaggio P-108 was an Italian strategic bomber during World War II.
It is shown here in a night raid on Gibraltar June 1942 (not very successful).
Of the 5 planes that came from the island of Sardinia, only one returned uneventfully.
One return at the beginning of the mission, due to problems with the engines.
Other 3 with problems of autonomy, landed in Spain (theoretically neutral) in Murcia, Valencia and the Balearic Islands.
Of these, the first plane was boarding for the rest of the war, the second remained irreparably damaged and the third,
inexplicably, he was allowed to refuel and return to base.

What I find most interesting here is the view of Gibraltar, which I have never seen from this angle. In addition, you have provided a good view of these Italian bombers and a bit of history. I didn't know there were Italian bomber raids against Gibraltar. Good work! Keep it up! :-)

Wow, this a real rare aircraft. Only a few were build (30 to 35 pieces). You can say that all belonged to a pre-production series. The son of Benito Mussolini died on one of these aircraft. Well made, Pedro.
