Description
Captured an image of Mercury making its transit across the sun this morning! Mercury is the tiny speck in the lower left quadrant of the sun's disk. Also a few sunspots in upper center. Just captured a few images in between clouds!
Need to view the image full size to even see Mercury!! My 200mm lens just doesn't have the reach needed for a great image! :\

I bought an extender 2x recently to increase the focal length of my 70-200. just not enough. I had a 500MM when I bought my current camera 5d mark III but I sold it. after the fact I found out it would have worked as it was a full frame lens.
I wonder what kind of filter you used to shoot the sun directly. great capture

Here is a video that shows how to make the SOLAR FILTER, and where to get the materials. I thought about tele-extender for the Sigma lens, but I plan on getting a Canon 100-400mm and would rather it buy one for that lens!!
