One of your most complex portraits in many months. You did a beautiful job with your lines---her hair and the lines of her clothing (is that a stole? an étole?) are painted as if you made them with pen and ink. Wonderful busy lines, converging lines, agitated lines, even some exploding lines (ie, on her shoulder). And she looks at us through these lines, mysteriously and skeptically (your title), with an expressive glance. Beautiful evocation of doubt and a little scorn. And those green eyes are marvelous against all that gray, black and white. With a few small sections of flesh and beige skin tones. Terrific, Yves.
