Description

We were in Lone Pine, California during the full moon on April 21st. It was a perfect opportunity to do some night photography, with no light source but the full moon and the stars. It was seriously boring waiting for the sun to go down and the moon to come up, but it was worth the wait. We had a blast! Thanks, everybody, for the birthday wishes! I had a fun day. You're the best! :)

This is a howlingly great photo. My moonshots never turn out good...it is always just so small in comparison to what I really saw.

Beautiful - it has a painterly look about it & though I've never been to this specific spot, it evokes memories of evenings I've spent in Death Valley...

Beautiful. The deep, pure blue of the night sky is one of natures most fantastic colors.

First, a belated Happy Birthday! Glad you had a great day! I almost missed this, as it was so dark on my monitor. You've really got a nice one here - the hills and the moon as sole source of light. The deep green blue gives this an almost artificial "film night" kind of appearance. Fantastic that truth can be stranger then fiction! Keep up the good work! :-)

OK..... I'm blown away... You managed to get plenty of detail in the foreground, and yet you also got detail of the moon's surface... 250,000 miles is some pretty kickin' depth of field, I must say!

Awesome photo, Tara!

This is another FAV. - what would I give, to witness this spectacular scenery - the way the Moon is highlighting the rocks ? or is it sand dunes ? I agree, it was worth the wait Tara ! aaahhhh - so hauntingly beautiful ! 🌚
