Description
I'm commenting on 2 or 3 galleries per night, but I'll get to you all!
In the meantime, a piece I found in my hard drive---it popped up this morning and said, "what am I, chopped liver???" Ok, ok, I'll post it...
It's 5 years old.
Correction!
I said it was Steve's 60th birthday in my dedi last night:
It was his 59th!!!! Sorry, Steve! But hey---you're all set for next year...
Thanks for stopping by, everyone!
Mark
(why do I always sign my name? You know who I am, I know who I am, so why do I do it?
From now on, I'm gonna sign King Phillippe III of France. Or King Dhritharashtra. ((That's a king from ancient India.))
Or how about Muddy Waters, the blues singer. Howlin' Wolf. Those are names...)
Better Zoomed...

great image. I hadn't really thought about you with some other name. perhaps you should hold a contest and have someone pick the name out of all that people suggest.

There is this woman standing in front of her full-length mirror and thinks: 'oh no I've got nothing to wear ' and can't make up her mind ! "Will I try the mint-green one ? or the red one today ?" finally she decides on the multi-coloured one the green/red/pink/purple one, after all the Sun is shining and it's Springtime in Chicago ! and she likes to go dancing
There you go Mr Anahata Papa San King...

Your title is very suggestive. I only know of one thing that “pops up” in the morning. It is something very near and dear to my heart. It’s probably best that you posted this psychedelic offering instead.
On my last visit to Sumatra I met an African-American man. He was six foot three and weighed about 130 pounds. He told me that the Indonesians he met were fascinated by him and asked him the three standard questions they ask every visitor; what is your name, where are you from, what is your job? He answered the questions over and over. On one occasion they were literally lined up to ask him the same questions so he decided to have some fun with it.
“What is your name?” “Albert Einstein.” “Where are you from?” “Germany.” “What is your job?” “Writing the theory of relativity.”
“What is your name?” “Napoleon Bonaparte.” “Where are you from?” “Corsica.” “What is your job?” “Emperor of France.”
And so on.
So your proposition is not entirely without reason.
May I suggest Admiral Pumpernickel of the Swiss Navy?

Great ones !!

I particularly like the top version of this. It looks like sparkling rain coming down outside a window looking out onto a colorful garden. As for names I see nothing at all wrong with the name you have. After all Samuel Clements, another great writer such as you, chose the name Mark Twain for his alias. But, I understand your wish to have some fun so here are some of my suggestions:
Rudyard Kipling Truman Capote e.e. cummings Chinua Achebe Gustave Flaubert
With sincere fun, Grandma Moses

What fun your commenters are having!
I just LOVE these, all three of them, they are luscious and richly flavoured!
You probably know I sometimes have synaesthesia, and these definitely have tastes! The top one is my favourite, a sort of salad, the middle one is beautiful but far too peppery and hot to eat, and the bottom one is a minty iced dessert.

Marvelous creation my friend ant fantastic variations also... Your work is truly FABULOUS Mark !!!

Well done collage of fracs, Mark. Glad you found these in the drive. Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic abstract composition. I like the top and bottom panels the best.

What a lovely design, far too lovely to be hiding on your hard drive for 5 years. I'm glad it was finally released into the world. I like all three, as each is so unique, and they would make very cool scarves.

beautiful image!

I love the vibrancy of the top one, the romantic feeling of the middle one and the crispness of the bottom one. They are all very beautiful and I am so glad they have finally found their way out of the confines of your computer, amazing what you find when you clean out a cupboard. I think Mark suits you just fine. ☺

Amazing images! Glad you found them and posted. I think the top one is my favorite.

a cool set of images. I like them! each brings forth a different emotion and that's what art is all about. a rose by any other name... :)

Great art!!

First of all, lol, your title has subliminal sexual connotations. And, if that's chopped liver, I would be most reticent to take a bite. It might scald my esophagus. Other than that, I pretty well echo all the above in their assessment of this brilliant collage. Excellently done, King Phillippe. You never disappoint.

As I recall, in Catch22, Yossarian was censoring letters while he was in the hospital not getting better but not getting any worse, either, and he signed his name "Washington Irving." When he got tired of that, he signed it "Irving Washington." When he became bored switching those two around, he signed "I yearn for you tragically. A. T. Tappman, Chaplain, U.S. Army." Personally, I've always been fond of "Pooky," who was Garfield the Cat's teddy bear.
Oh ... the art! Yes. I like the last one, because as Kat says, the first one looked like a colorful garden seen through a rain-drenched window. The last one is that same rain-drenched window, but with bright sunlight blazing off every bit of water, turning the whole world brilliant white. It's beautiful, especially to someone from a rainy climate! (Ahem ... that would be me, of course.)
I year for you tragically, A.T. (Pooky) Tappman

These are all fascinating. In the middle, red one, I see a grieving widow, in that way I love the atmosphere around it.

A most cool and colorful 'pop-up' you have here, Mark! Good to see you back, my friend!

On the first I feel I am looking through a thin curtain into a bar with fancy light and mutes music :) The second i am looking inth a wood with the last glows of fire left. Rather sad, but wonderful colors. The last one is a relief. I cools off the wood fire anf makes all light and green again. I am crazy, I know, but what the heck. :)) Love your triptych :)

Beautiful work Mark. I love the hues in them all, but the top one really grabs the eye. Sort of like looking at flowers through a rain soaked window.
