Description
A eucalyptus tree going through the annual process of shedding its skin. I have several more shots depicting this event, which leaves quite a mess on the ground.
Captured 5/14/16 @ 8:56 am, within the vast confines of my condominium complex.

It is messy, but what lovely patterns and shapes it makes! I remember the smell of these trees around the school playground when I was a kid. Beautiful composition in this excellent shot!

I'd recognize the flaking thin and altogether fascinating bark of the eucalyptus anywhere. This shot shows the bark almost as a piece of clothing, like a leather layer over the tree. And fascinating bark forms all the way to the bottom, and on the sides. The outer edges look like wrinkled human skin; and the mix of purples and greens and pale yellows is striking. A beautiful capture of a tree losing its skin; fascinating and rich layers and textures and hues. And the sky tone---pure white---is just right for this strange beautiful tree shot.
Harry, I'm at 45 minutes, and must leave RR. But piece by piece, I'm covering the last couple of months in your gallery. I'll be back again...hope the early summer/late spring is going well for you. Have a good evening in hot LA...
