Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

I love misty mornings that turn out warm & sunny.

Awesome picture. Great catch of the dew on the roof and back window of the car. Hope it turns out warm and sunny for you today-- we are going for dull, cloudy and rain showers.

Wonderful atmosphere. We're enjoying some cool, wet weather here before the blazing heat of summer arrives...

Stunning capture Andrea. God bless.

I also love misty mornings. Nice contrast between the bright sky and soft houses and trees in the distance and the dark foliage and hard edges of the cars.

Lovely gloomy shot , we have a Blackbird collecting lots of grubs so there must be a nest somewhere, and the House Martins are back for the summer.

Great capture Andrea. That is something we don't have here in Phoenix. I see that in San Diego when I am there, or when I used to go back to Berlin in summer! Love the ambiance!

Andrea, I'm at about 70 minutes since I started in your gallery, and while I'd intended to do longer, I've suddenly been called away. (And I want to leave a comment on Mark's latest, esp as he had a rough few months lately.) So I'll stop here for now, though this won't be my last session in your gallery this time around. The fog makes your area look like shangri-la. It separates everything, makes islands of things; and the light dawning on the surfaces makes dark of night so visceral, like it's hiding out under bushes and to the sides of cars. The sun blasting through on the right is so white and yellow. And the distant trees and houses are like ghosts. Beautiful shot, wonderful fog shot. I'll be back for more, but as always it's a pleasure to come back here and comment.
