Description
Special Notes: Okay, this is somewhat embarrassing, but keep in mind, I have about five years of photos from litters of Sam and Katie's mother, and mixed in with other Aussies (yeah, I'm an Australian Shepard guy) Anyway, that's a lot of pics of Australian Shepards. And, I was angry and upset over what happened to Coach. Anyway, a friend called me and said, "Dude, that isn't the photo of Coach, you got the pics mixed up." And then when I looked at what I had uploaded, yep, I felt dumb. But, I think that's the first time I've ever uploaded the wrong pic.
So, yep, I'll own up to the mistake of uploading the wrong pic. I'm not going to re-post the correct one, I'll just leave off the story about Coach, it's too depressing but I was upset and now I'm a little calmer. (he looked a lot like Katie but a bit more orangish where Katie has a blueish tint.
P.S. That really is Katie's laugh. She is the most smiling/grinning dog I've ever seen. I hold a treat up and she grins with her front teeth. I do something she thinks is funny, she gives me that full laugh. And you should see her grin when I bring a doggie bag home. Sam grins too, but only with his front teeth when I get the flute out, he sees the flute and starts grinning, he loves to sing along.
If you've never had a Shepard you should try one. It's really kind of scary how smart they are. I'm not talking about learning tricks. No, real smarts, solving puzzles, learning to do things dogs shouldn't be able to do. Like opening the fridge and helping themselves to a snack. Asking them where your car keys are and watch them go search for them. Opening the pantry door and stealing a treat. Or, here's one of my favorites. You're watching tv, they are pretending to be asleep, so you get up and go grab a drink. When you get back, your dorrito bag is missing, but they are still in the same place sleeping where you left them, and you never find the dorrito bag.

Lovely photo. I recognise all you are all you are saying, dogs are very clever.
There are a lot of Australian Shepherds at shows, they are beautiful dogs. xx

When I first saw the photo, I thought "Hand over the doggie treat or someone's going to lose a finger." I've never seen a dog grin like that before. They are very smart and I bet you could find the chip bag if you really wanted to search for it - like we did with Sean's tack.

Have had dogs that I knew were smiling but never saw one grinning till now. Great photo!

Well, if that's a smile or a laugh, let me stay in the other room. That's a snarling expression that says I can hardly wait to make a meal out of you.

I'd hate to see when she's mad at you, lol... ;)

Grand photo!!! One should always be smarter than one's dogs..... & the bar is set pretty high when the breed name ends in Shepard!!
