When I read your title 'Vika who knows it all' I immediately thought 'This must be a little girl.' Sometimes I scare myself. Your granddaughter is very cute and looks quite determined. And, yes, she has big beautiful eyes. A wonderful portrait.

Your family is growing up fast, it must be quite a joy to see it happening right before your eyes... 'you loose some - you gain some', it's the cycle of life, as we know it Nikolais - you can call yourself a lucky man, my son hasn't produced any offspring's as yet, and I am still waiting ... and then again, it may never happen and that is OK too ! 😄

All you have to do is look into an infant's eyes to realize that they are born knowing everything! Somehow as we grow, things get forgotten, and by the time we are ... oh ... 17 or 18 or so, we know nothing, thinking we know everything! Hopefully the process reverses, and if we reach an advanced age, we might know some small percentage of what we knew when we were born. Vika is still wise, and it shows nicely in your portrait. She's wonderful! :)

well contrary to what Tara wrote, when I was born I didn't know squat. I came out a month early, eager to take on the world, and I didn't know a thing, lol. I whistled in my crib at something like 6 months---which they tell me was a neighborhood attraction---but I don't recall a bit of it. No memory, no recording contracts, nada. But that has nothing to do with this gorgeous granddaughter, who has deep knowing eyes; and Tara's narrative fits perfectly with her. Wonderful closeup, with "pooh" on her hat (as of 'Winnie' fame, I assume) and a great expression. Handled by you with wonderful softness of focus on all but her face and hat brim. Great expression---you got the eye for kids, that's for sure. And beautiful light and shade. In older days, photography studios used to create this kind of morph, from sharp to bokeh; but they did it in such cutesy ways...But this is the real way to do it. And you chose the right tinted grays for her---blues, some reddish undertones, a tad of green or yellow---fine subtle grays, Nikolay. You have much to be proud of and happy about! Beautiful capture.
