Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Some lovely perfumes there.

A nice display. Some people have liquor bars in their homes. This looks like you have a perfume bar (and here is a wonderful 2013 with hints of sandalwood and cardamom).

Oooooohh ... a set! I love that. Each bottle must contain something quite different from its fellows, and it would be fun to sample each one!

I've never learned the finer points of fragrance, though I can appreciate them from my limited experience with some spirits (cognac---which I appreciate on other people's money, btw, as fine cognac can set you back a house or two). And probably just from being in the arts. But I know that, for you and others, part of the joy of these fragrances is the visual power of the bottles and boxes. This is another in your long series of bottle shots; and I love the splash of metallic and glassy light. And the reflections, and the gold and silver everywhere, mixed with the bottle hues. And the glass back there---can't tell if it's a mirror or what---has these white reflections, which are like aromas sifting upwards. A smashing shot, filled with so much visual splash. Terrific. (My mother used Chanel 5, and when I was a kid, I'd open the bottle---when she wasn't around, as she told me it cost a fortune---and smell it. It was transformative. I was transported. Like Proust and his madeleines, it was an experience that never left me. Even that simple bottle was like a hidden mystery that I wasn't supposed to 'see'. It was like opening a forbidden chest, filled with jewels...)
