What's interesting is that Picasso's renderings of Jacqueline are like a Rosetta stone to understanding his stylistic evolution in his later years; she is recognizable even in his most abstract output; it's not trite, it's not a fake--she boils up through his art with a strong ident; he worked very hard to get this one right.
