Description

Every time I go to southern California, I see these gorgeous trees. It took me several years to finally find out they're Jacarandas. They're in full bloom now and just jump out at you. Wish I could grow them up here in northern California, but they don't like the weather here. I might try to bonsai one and keep it in my greenhouse.

Woweeee, I thought I was looking at one of my photographs from La Mirada Park. Beautiful trees the jacarandas, Marilyn, but when they drop their tons of blooms on the ground, it's a virtual carpet, followed by extensive raking. Anyway, a loverly mass of colors and textures in this pic. I still have more fotos of jacarandas to post.

We've got at least one at the park in Texas that I know of, and it's absolutely gorgeous! the first time I saw one I couldn't believe it was real. :)
