Description

Taken on our hike at Applegate Lake this past weekend. Whenever I pass a hollow stump, I'm always curious to see what's in it. When I looked in this one, I saw two lizards inside. The first photo I took of them on the inside didn't come out very well, but then one of then crawled out, while the other one poked his head out to see what was going on & that made for a much more interesting photo (I think)...

It's difficult to capture one lizard on a photo, but two...! Great capture!

Wonderful lighting, contrast, texture, and composition in this pic of the two reptiles seeking out what disturbed their reverie.

Ok, one nature shot in the bunch. (I'm at nearly an hour---this wasn't a short session after all!---so I wanted to do one nature shot before I left.) Marvelous capture of rock-like wood formations. It's almost like a big mound in the desert, with striated rock. And intense shadow, and that deep black back there, are the cat's pajamas. Love the lizard peeking out: He's almost like a movie star striking a pose. The other dude is nearly vertical, and he stands out strongly from his surrounding. A really active intense shot, with lots of blacks to set it off, and more of your intense lights. Terrific.

(Try not to hold "cat's pajamas" against me...)
