Description
Ghost Ranch is a 21,000 acre property about 60 miles northwest of Santa Fe. For many years, Georgia O'Keeffe lived there part time on a 7.5 acre parcel she bought (spending the rest of her year in NYC with her husband, the famous photographer Alfred Stieglitz). She drew inspiration for her desert paintings there. Today, it is a retreat & education center run by the Presbyterian church, with museums & hiking trails. I took this photo on the most popular trail there, which is about three miles long and ascends to the point seen here opposite Chimney Rock. If you're going to be visiting Santa Fe, I highly recommend this as a side trip - it's just a little over an hour away & the landscape is spectacular...
