Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Funny that you should post this. I was just saying today that our would had been trashed by "Stupid". I told my boss that we need less stupid and there was an easy way to get rid of a lot of it.
We need to take all of the warnings off of every day things. The coffee is hot, do not put the plastic bag over the child's head, do not drink the bleach, keep children away from the deep water, keep knife away from children, do not allow child to put small objects in mouth, do not point gun at yourself, do not hold firecracker in hand, do not I hail gas fumes, unwrap before eating. In one simple step we could rid the world if much of the "stupid" epidemic. Of course, I have no idea how anyone would know that a steam engines spits steam and hot water unless some one tells them 🙄

It really is a sad state of affairs that such signs are needed.

What, no candy? You mean I burned my hands for nothing? Another example, although amusing, of our CYA society (cover your ass) needed to avoid lawsuits when 'special people' harm themselves. We just lost one of those people this week when he ignored the warning signs at Yellowstone National Park, stepped off the walkway and fell into a boiling acidic pool of water. The park rangers could not find any recognizable remains. Always remember, no matter how outnumbered you are by the idiots they are still the idiots.
On another note, its your birthday? Didn't you have one just last year? Well, ok, if you insist on having another I'll add my best wishes and hope you had a great day.

If you don't mind... I'd love to put this on my workstation at the office. Dang thing would probably run better if it were steam-powered.

Amazes how there has to be a sign for everything, mentioning every little thing. Just in case a stupid person wishes to sue!!!!!! Happy Birthday.
