My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Oh yes, the rhodies were spectacular this year. I have a big pink one that's taller then my house. Gorgeous, but oh my, SOOOO messy!! Worth every sticky petal, though.
And this foto, oh my, so very familiar. I've walked those redwood forests so many times, and it's a thrill to come upon one of these sweet rhodies. What a beautiful gift for Andrea!!!

So andrea doesn't like mountains---surprise, lol---she doesn't like high rises either. But she sure loved this piece, and your description. A beautiful highlighted flower, glowing in sparse light, and surrounded by all kinds of colored shade. And it's to one side, allowing the background to fill the frame. With a balancing stalk of leaves on the right, balancing the blooms on the left. And beautiful greens and peach-oranges in the background. And lots of space on top---no sky here, but the background provides it. A beautiful shot, and your description makes us want to be there. Mouthwatering.
