Description
here is a picture of my Mom & Dad's car just after the wreck. Dad was siting in the passenger seat when the car got hit by the SUV. I cannot say anymore as the accident is still under investigation and I do not have all the details.
I will say this though: I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart and soul for the kind thoughts and words & dedication/ tributes you have given me. It helps me deal with the event in a positive way, that I know that I am not alone.
when going around to various stores and places I have been asked how am I doing, rather than lying, I misquote Pink Floyd and tell them I'm Uncomfortably numb and then tell them what happened. I'm impressed by all the people who knew my dad or was affected by his actions (in a positive way)
I just hope that I can follow in my Dad's footsteps. I know there is no way I could even begin to fill his shoes but I try to follow the path that he was on.

Mike, I am more than sure that your dad is beaming with a great smile, looking down on you and being very proud. I never had the pleasure of meeting your dad, but I can tell - through you - just what a wonderful man he was. And he will always be with you.
OMG.. I am just speechless over this photo.... That idiot must have been flying through the intersection. Whoever this person is, they need to take their license away and make them ride the bus for the rest of their life. They're clearly too irresponsible to be trusted with a 2-ton weapon.

A very upsetting photo that tells the whole story really. No wonder you are feeling uncomfortably numb. Accidents happen so quickly that it takes a long time before you can get your head around what has happened. I am glad that all our thoughts and dedications are helping you and your family over this very sad time. I am sure your dad was very proud of you and I am sure you have lots of good times to remember him by.

Thanks for opening up and sharing your loss with us." Uncomfortably numb " is a beautiful way of expressing your feelings at this time. Death of a loved one takes time for us to wrap our heads around. Nothing makes sense and how we get through this time is as unique and individual as our fingerprints. Nobody can tell us how to feel.
The truth is you have your Fathers genes which makes you much like him since birth. Sounds like he was well known for his wonderful personality, just as you are here Mike.
