Feel like a minotaur trying to follow my way through all the convolutions... or maybe that should be Jack Nicholson [;)]

Quick and dirty low down. One circle bisected with two larger circles bi-laterally. These polar arrayed around the center of the first one 48 times. Split at every 45 degree of the center point. delete every thing but two adjoining wedges. Hide one wedge. Select all the lines of the remaining wedge and start trimming away. To give the over under illusion. Lock the first set of weave and un hide the hidden lines select and start trimming. You can't mirror the first set cause now everything that was over will now be under. Next step is to join the appropriate curves copy rotate paste and repeat. Join again and pipe. I wouldn't even know where to begin to write a script for something like this. If I do this agagin I will trying making a dedicated pipe button from three clicks per line to one if possible.
