Yes, actually they do. :) A lot of what we do in the US today was first done in Europe, esp. Germany. I was just reading about this. :)

Don't know about it being an international holiday. Didn't it have religious significance at one time in the Catholic church as All Hallows Eve? In any event, the image is real cute and very well done!

Linda, the 'All Hallows Eve' is the christening of some older feast that was the Celtic new year 'Samhain'.

Nice image! All I know is that even though we celebrate it in Venezuela, we don't take it as seriously as in the US. I think that for us it's just an excuse to make a party.
