Hi, I’m Voramini, but please call me Vor. Voramini is too long. No, you’re not seeing double. That was Shunati that you saw before. And no, we’re not twins or even brothers. We’re cousins. A long time ago, our moms’ parents and our dads’ parents found out they were both expecting at the same time. They’d been friends for years so they thought it would be a good idea to arrange a marriage between their kids. Then they both found out they were expecting identical twins. So they had the oldest two, my folks, pledged to marry and then the younger two, Shun’s folks. I know it was probably still a one in a million chance that we ended up looking alike, but we did. But that’s just because Shunati doesn’t look right with our face so I had to show everyone how good it could look. I grew up as a tracker and hunter. They say I’m the best in the valley. I don’t know about that, but I rarely lose what I’m tracking. It’s only happened once in the 50 years I’ve been alive. Ok, 50 isn’t that long. When I was 16 I got into a fight with one of the king’s assassins and he almost killed me. If it weren’t for Shunati, I wouldn’t have survived. But I did, and I guess I did well enough that he recommended me to King Arlin. So after some time healing and a lot of pressure from Arlin, I enlisted as a soldier and was placed in the assassin’s program. No, I’m not an assassin. About the time I finished my training, I started having problems with my magic and had to go to the college. After that, I went to Thager and became a bartender. I also work with the city guard to track criminals or lost kids. I’m pledged to the most beautiful woman in the world, Deyama tre Qituma and have been since I was five. That’s when she was born. We’re in a rough patch right now. I apparently did something to upset her before leaving for the college, or maybe while I was there. But we’ll work it out eventually. I love her so much, I would do anything to fix what I did. In time it will happen.
