Description

Ripples In The Stream The cat has to be fed. May as well get up and do it now. With a few groans and a few curses, the seventy five year old Morgan Hillard pulls himself from his easy chair. The lady at the corner store tells him he looks just like Morgan Freeman, but he doesn't see the resemblance. Good looking, maybe, but not good enough for tv or movies. She was probably just making small talk, passing the time. Not flirting, that's for sure, even though he wouldn't mind some female company. His wife had past four years ago and now his only company is Ms Purrkins. The fury black tabby with white paws looks up at him and meows. "Ya, ya, I hear you. Nag, nag," he says to the impatient cat. He loves and spoils her anyway. After putting away the bag of dry cat food he goes back into the small living room. Should he call the building super and complain about the noise down the hall? Sounded like bloody hell. Damn junkie, who knows what kind of shit he's into. Should go over there right now and tell that long haired loser where to go, he thinks. Morgan picks up his jacket, sets his mind to do this and heads out into the hall. Just as he closes the door to his apartment, a framed picture of his wife falls to the floor and shatters...
