Description

I guess that it is not easy to ignore rumbling great existential events such as have over taken me and my fellow countrymen. Believe me I would dearly like to ignore it if I could but I don't think it will ignore me. I am not going to go into all the pros and cons here; my choice on the day of the refrendum was more one of pragmatism than ideology. I think there are many problems with the EU and its disregard for democracy, the way it has acted in Greece has really dissolved away any moral high ground for the Eurocracy. At the same time I wasn't really happy to subject my country to yet another trauma and yet another recession- so I decided to vote for the status quo. Now that the result has gone the other way and the entire political establishment is in meltdown, there are now apparently millions of leavers who might want to vote the other way. There has been pressure for a second refrendum and of course another petition, but I think this is even more dangerous. Surely a democratic choice- however poorly thought through and potentially disastrous, is a democratic choice. If we start down that road- the road of disregarding a democratic choice because it don't suit than we are in even worse shape than I thought!

I am so sorry that humanity has once again shown its "You Can't Fix STUPID." side. People using the one thing Politician's haven't taken away, there VOTE, like it was some kind of pet's chew toy. So many now saying we didn't realize what it all meant. WTF...then educate yourselves before you vote!

Now comes the reckoning of Political Choice, an I fear the entire nation now gets to take a bite out of the poop sandwich they created. My best wishes go to you and your country-men that the choice made can be turned into a good one. I fear you face many hard times getting to the place the "Exit" crowd envisioned. Best of luck and stay strong.

Our time is coming in November as so may will vote their "Anger at the Political Class" as a vote for a bigot, a madman, and one who has a world view formulated from the grand perch onto which he was born 70 years ago . We may well face the same fate. I hope not but ... "You Can't Fix STUPID."

that is so true. It is apparent that people don't play the what-if game with more intensity (something akin to planning out chess moves)

Not being a citizen of your country, I am dependent on BBC America and our pundits for information. I can see both views but must admit if I were a citizen, I too would resent some unelected bureaucrat dictating what my country could and couldn't do. You Brits are tough and I'm sure, when the dust settles, you'll come out on top.
Just hope my countrymen remember that you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, as Gram used to say.

Excellent render to "celebrate" the outcome of the vote. My country is surrounded by the EU but not within. The idea of the EU is great, its understanding of democracy much less so. I would also have voted to remain because the option to leave at a later date remained; the option to get back after a leave vote may not exist anymore.

Had the young people went to the polls, they could make a difference. But they propel themselves prefer social network around and miss their chance to make a difference. Now that does not suit them the result, they suddenly want to cast their vote. Let them cast their vote, they have anyway nothing more to say ... Well, stupid run.
