Description
Captured 6/5/16 @ 11:00 am, at the beautiful Huntington Beach Concours d'Elegance held on the beautiful grounds of the Huntington Beach Central Park in beautiful Huntington Beach, California.
Most ZOOM worthy.
The Borgward Isabella is an automobile which was manufactured by the Bremen based auto-manufacturer Carl F. W. Borgward GmbH from 1954 to 1962.
Despite its aspirational positioning in the marketplace, the Isabella had a smaller engine (and was marginally shorter) than its immediate predecessor, the Borgward Hansa. Late in 1952, the firm had launched their six-cylinder Hansa 2400 model. The larger car never found many buyers; but in 1954, it made commercial sense to keep the two models from competing too directly with each other.

And, no, I had never seen or heard of this automobile prior to my attendance at the event.

I've heard the name, and I believe the brand is being revived once again too; though not with such a stunningly designed model. I'd love to have such a beautiful car in our garage, it sort of reminds me a bit of a Studebaker.
Beautiful photography on this rare gem!

Those front 'plates' (whatever they are: the round circles over the fender) say either "Kella" or "Hella": If they're the latter, they spelled Helle's name wrong! Anyway, another 2 tone beauty, only with styling clearly of the 50s, with its curvilinear sweeps and rounded edges. Your first shot is enhanced by the angle of land---how it moves upwards on a slope---I think that's how it is, it doesn't look like it's done by your pov alone. Very well captured and framed by all that's behind it. And strong whites and reds, in this front/side view. The second shot is also nicely framed, with chairs on one side of the car, and people on the other. And a pure front view, from a high enough angle that we see the bulbous mass of the hood---it's a big rounded snout. And the contrast of hues really stand out in that 2d shot. Fine pair of captures, Harry, of another beauty. Boy it's great to see your carshots come back in your gallery again...

I don't think I've ever heard of this one; what a pretty auto! And yes, my first thought was they spelled Helle's name wrong too! Fantastic shots, do the folks at these affairs all know you by now?
