Description
Hi,
Taken at Shuttleworths Navy Day, this is just part of the wonderful selection of Military and classic vehicles that turned up, and performed several runs about the place..
Now, as Shuttleworth (oddly!) in their programs do not list items that generally appear including some of the aircraft I'm going to have to rely on Roger and others to confirm the make and actual type you are looking at here..
Both are WW2 vintage and I believe the gun is 3.7" A.A Gun.. But, I am most likely wrong.. The truck.. It has has Stars on it but I'm not sure its a U.S. make (Foden?)
Roger will know for sure..
The gun does move fully and had Ammo with it, you could sit and have a 'go'! lol

I'm sayin' a 3/4 ton Dodge WC-somethin' and a Bofors 40mm. Nice shot as always.

I have agree with Chuter The truck is a Dodge WC 52 or 53 3/4 ton weapons carrier, depending on if has a winch on front ,an 40mm Bofors AA gun missing its outriggers on side ,probably US made ,or one of the light weight Airborne models.

I support chuter and lesgraham's verdicts on the truck and the gun. Nice photo. I have Airfix's model of the North Africa version with the British Morris CD/SW 30 cwt 6X4 tractor. The Bofors in the model is also missing its outriggers. Seeing your photo got me to dig up the Airfix model. Thanks for that! It's painted desert sand (by Humbrol). Keep up the good work! :-)

Can't argue with the lads on the ID for the gun or truck. My dad motored around France and Germany in a WC53 during WWII

I agree with the ID's for the gun and the truck! Great capture!
Faemike55
no bloody clue really, but I'd love to own one or two....

3.7" was a much bigger gun, comparable to the 88.
Maxidyne
Yep it is most certainly a Dodge mate.
flavia49
very beautiful capture

My Father was on the AA Guns in the 8th Army WW11 One of the Rats as they were called for some reason he can not hear an pin hit the floor these days Can't think why

As with anything from WW-II, it might be assembled by someone else as Dodge was making aircraft engines. Dodge WW-II trucks

I'll just let the experts advise on the exact make, but I will say I'd love to squeeze off a few rounds with that! :-D
Cool shot, Rob!
