Description

When I remember well, I lived in this house from 1957 to 1962. At that time the house looked different and it was in a less good condition. The walls outside looked dingy. In front on the corner there was a small shop. One could buy fruits and vegetables there. I can remember that the ceilings of the apartments were very high (3 meters or so) and they were decorated with stucco. That's a long time ago. Thanks for viewing.

Sometimes, the places we knew in the past are responsible for nostalgia ... I wonder what remains of the places of my childhood, perhaps nothing... Superb building, very nice capture!

Today it is a mighty beautiful building, Klaus. Good to have sweet memories :) My childhood apartment block is still looking the same and now my son lives in the very same apartment. He took over the rent from my mom, when she as a widow moved up to her summerhouse, which was besides ours. Now my nephew and niece live there... permanently and they are wonderful neighbors :)

Most of the places I lived in as a child are either really run down now, or un recognizable.

Bildschönes altes Gebäude! Das Haus, in dem ich meine ersten Jahre verbrachte, wurde leider abgerissen ...

What an interesting building. It's nice that you can visit moments from your past. I wonder if you would be able to find images of how it used to look. Might be a fun search :)
