Description

Had an idea on doing a planet in Carrara. I used 3 and 1/2 vertex spheres (one for the planet, one for the clouds slightly bigger, another for the atmo (again slightly bigger). Then I duped the atmo sphere and cut in half. I set texture maps to the earth, clouds (using alpha and bump) and a light blue for the atmo. Same on the half sphere atmo, but this I put a soft slow with an aura. I fooled with the settings to get something I liked. Then in the glow channel I added a gradient, changed to black and white, and again fooled with the degrees a bit. I always have found it challenging to make a nice planet in Carrara. Hoping this is an improvement for me. Thanks for looking

Looks good to me. I used to have Carrera, back when it ingratiated with Poser 6, but never used it much, so I had no idea what you were talking about but it sound very nerdy ( a compliment)

Well done. Planets are harder than they seem!
