Wednesday, July 6, 2012, 18:30.
I took a few photos of these flat bottomed clouds speeding in over the land this evening. Yes, moving fast! Large bodies of clouds above the flat portions, loading up for more rain for tonight. It's interesting to see the architecture of these clouds - first a flat bottom. Then an evenly thick portion, flat above, above which form the towering cumulus parts.
It's 21:00 now and not yet raining, but I expect heavy rain like last night and the night before, and likely thunder.
Enjoy! At least you're not out in it like I was yesterday and Monday! Blah!

we had lots of rain the night of July Fourth and more the morning after. it torn up trees and a roof at the mall. glad there was no damage here. beautiful landscape and clouds

As a cloud connoisseur myself, I find this image of these beauties with the flat bottoms quite stunning and unusual. Terrific blends, contrasts and depth in this excellent capture. Keep up the good work. Plus, we could use some rain in my drought stricken area.

The "black cat" by the path is a large magpie. There are LOTS of them, plus crows and ravens where I live. Very entertaining to watch. In fact, the crows keep any cats at bay.

Have to say I was a bit disappointed, though. Going by the title, I was actually hoping to see something like a LOL pic or render featuring a naked gal with a literally flat bottom. Just joking. :P
