Bekins was founded in 1891 when moving was performed using a horse and carriage. Bekins was one of the first moving company names to utilize a motor van and do away with horse-powered moving carriages. The first transcontinental motor van move was completed by a Bekins van in 1928. The Caruso family who founded Ace Moving & Storage in 1936 would become part of Bekins in 1995 when both companies merged to create Bekins A-1. David Caruso is currently a Bekins board member and president of Bekins A-1 Movers. In 1996, Bekins was the first van line to earn Certified Professional Mover status, as granted by AMSA. Since the late 1990s, Bekins has continued to expand, opening several branches all over Nevada, California, Texas, Georgia, Virginia, Florida, and Arizona.

I wonder how many households that truck can take! As for door to door delivery with a truck that size... hmmm... At first I thought you had done a stretch job in Photoshop. I recall the Bekins advertising jingle on the Philadelphia radio stations from the early 1970s. Unfortunately, the family never used Bekins, and had some bad experiences with other movers. Sigh. Should have tried Bekins! Thanks for the amazing photo. Keep up the good work! :-)

I don't remember the name of the company that moved me from California to Washington, but it was absolutely amazing how they packed so much stuff into what didn't seem to be enough space for my things, much less in addition to several other households. Quite an art! Excellent shot here!
