Description
Hello everyone ! and thank you very much for your support in my last drawings:)
I am sorry that so rarely i am in your galleries, but i see what you are doing and it lifts me each day. Thank you !
I did this drawing some time ago and it is another try with dry pastel! Not what i wanted...it was not easy :) this is the 3rd version of what i wanted to draw and it is what was left, because i did this over the others and I only have photos, but i still wish to achieve my first idea! This was somehow inspired in ''Swan Lake''... but is far from that! Past days, i forced a bit more the blue tones, gave more light and made a few changes also and i decided to show you this:)...meanwhile, another music came in my mind and so, this title:)
Thank you for being with me and i wish you all a wonderful weekend of Summer:) and much health as always! Take care!

It's worked well. I cannot do dry pastels, I get it everywhere except on the paper.

OHH Ana! This absolutely wonderful. I love the choice of colors you used here. The blue goes perfectly with the golden brown-ish color, you highlighted the swans with. It is all so gracefully done. And i love how the backlight shines through the ladys hair. Gentle and loving. Thank you for sharing this beauty with us. :-)

This is very fine, and so cheerful, even with an appropriate title. It is full of enthusiasm, and dance, as well as graceful movements; while I like the nice, soft pastel colors in it. Beautiful work, Ana, I love it. :)

I'm sorry I'm late on this, Ana, but as you know I've barely commented on RR, the last month. (Though I keep saying I'll come back...) But I know how hard it is for you to do art these days, and I remember this series of drawings. This is beautiful. While you're a master of portrait-detail, you also create human and natural forms with the simplest lines and gestures. This woman---she looks like a dancer, perhaps from Swan Lake---is drawn with a minimum of lines; and you've shaded her just enough to give her shape. And, in your usual masterful way, you've shaped her so she's almost moving with the wind. She seems to be looking over the ledge of a big boat...And, as Helle pointed out, you gave powerful light to her, and wonderful backlighting too. She's got 'glow' all around her.
The swans are also drawn simply, but we know they're swans. And they seem to be joyous. Maybe this woman has finally found the swans, and is therefore home; or maybe she's going home now (maybe the swans will show her the way: swans, as you know, are symbols of enlightenment, in the East). She is very happy to see them, in any case. You've drawn the woman in light blues, but surrounded here with darker blues---the darkest are on the bottom, like the Sea. That contrast makes her stand-out, as if light is shining on her from above, from a mysterious source. And you've broken the smooth, rich blues with many lines and geometric shapes: I can't help but think of Cubism when I see your criss-cross lines. (Here are 3 examples, in mediocre jpgs: Look at the criss-cross lines. The 3d painting has some of the colors you use. 1 and 2 are by Picasso; and 3 is by Delaunay: http://www.arthistoryarchive.com/arthistory/cubism/images/PabloPicasso-Girl-with-Mandolin-Fanny-Tellier-1910.jpg

I love how you did that. (Your abstraction comes through loud and clear, like a dream.) It's a very real portrait, but it also has the feeling of old folklore, an ancient tale, something mystical. (You capture that in a number of your drawings and paintings.) Beautiful work as always, Ana, and I hope you can continue to create whenever you can. Forgive my getting here a week late, but I saw this as soon as it went up...
