Description

...cue the Händel! I was hoping to have a much larger retinue for her, but alas my hardware couldn't cope!

Very nice. I appreciate the referral to G.F.Handel. As for a larger retinue, you can try making several renders of the same scene with different figures in each render. Then take the renders into Photoshop and do copy - paste and cut - copy - paste. I use this when my hardware won't allow more than one V4 in a render. Give it a try and post it so we can see how it works out for you. Keep up the good work. :-)

Thanks for the tips, I'll give it a go and see how it comes out... the shadows may be tricky but its worth a go!.

What I have also tried in the past is to render the partly populated image and then use the render as a backdrop for additional foreground images and render again (I used this trick on the "Nordheim" image in my gallery, though that was to eliminate some bizarre shadow artefacts from the atmosphere camera). I'll play around and see what works.

Nicely done, and great use of available resources! T.Rex's suggestion is a good work-around. I have used it a number of times to good effect. Not as satisfying in the rendering stage not to be able to see the whole scene, but just as effective in the end result.

Nice scene. TRex is right: if you use different layers of the same render, each with different people, there shouldn't be any difference in lighting. If you stack them in PS you can make all characters appear together.
