Hot and tired, I went looking for something to drink. On my way I met these sisters. Marvelous features and absolutely no shyness. They looked right into the camera.

Wonderful candid photography!! I love it!
a 3 generations image .... the sleeping child with the future, the younger woman with hope and expectant, and the older woman with experience and in itself resting.

I also love B&W photography, especially when the subjects not posing, just 'a-la-natural' , it tells a story...
BTW - A belated ~HAPPY BIRTHDAY~ wish Mark and apologies for my lateness. (I have had a lot on my plate in the recent past)

Not a problem Brigitte. I know how busy things have been for you.

I agree with Andrea! And yes, it's a big compliment from her. (And she doesn't think she's all that good, which is amazing considering how incredibly good she is!) This is a terrific portrait, and your black and white is luminous, it's almost a silver-gold. Wonderful intense light to bring out the intensity of these piercing faces. And you capture the straight-on, flush-forward gazes of these people, who look right at you without hesitation, as you say. And the grit around them, the full humanity of their whole beings, great detail in the clothes, and that wonderful baby shining in luminous black and white. With a big luminous door behind them. Terrific. Just first rate work, Mark.
God, I'm almost at an hour and a half, and unfortunately I have to go now. I didn't realize what time it was! I'm gonna get back here one more time before I step down again. I wanted to do more of your writing, but that may have to wait right now. But I'll be back again. Great stuff as always. Happy Halloween! (Maybe you should be giving out water this year. I can't believe the drought you're all having!)
