Description

This Goanna was sitting on a branch in the rainforest. The name was originally given to Australian monitor lizards by the early European settlers. They thought our monitor lizards looked like the South American Iguanas.

Nice photo. It shows many things - how it clings, camoflage, the skeletal support in its back so its insides don't bulge out its back. Being in the tree, it makes me wonder if it jumps down on potential prey? Keep up the good work! :-)
