Description
I relocated this venomous little creature from our back yard to a safer place further toward a wooded area, being very careful, as it was twitching its tail and feigning defensive strikes. It is about 18 inches long, and probably about three years of age. Hopefully, it can manage to survive in a world which is changing dramatically as our population increases and wilderness areas are exterminated.

... and here it takes an opportunity to escape...

Yeah, you don't want to mess with them; they can be aggressive and they tend to blend in to the environment better than even a rattler.

Stay safe and don't play with the snakes.

The little fella wasn't in a playful mood, but holes in the bucket bottom seemed to have a soothing affect...

I applaud you for not doing what most folks would do.... Hopefully it will stay well away from endangering anyone. Cool photos, Kenn.

I have set free 3 snakes in the past 4 years, while s/son has killed 6 or 7... odd that I NEVER saw one Copperhead, as a child raised and hunting in these woods. I suspect that a pregnant Copperhead stowed aboard an air conditioning unit that was installed here about 4 years ago and has since reproduced at least once.

OMGoodness ... I would have been terrified. Then found a new place to live.

All can live in peace, if they have a desire to share common ground,
godspeed little friend ... :)
