Description

I realise that many of you choose to live in places where this is the norm, but you probably have air conditioning. I should absolutely hate to live anywhere that hot, I like to be outside in daylight! I can't do anything at these temperatures. This was on 19th July 16. The outside reading is from the North side of the house in the shade. Goodness knows what it was in the sun! My ideal temperatures are 20-23 C max. I used to like it quite hot, but not any more. It was almost ok under the big brolly in the breeze but that blew over in a gust of hot air.

I don't like it too hot either -- 23C is about the hottest I can stand

Fun seeing your reflection in the glass! Temperature isn't the worst problem. It's the humidity! I've been in 45 degrees Celcius in the Ojae valley, California. Not all that bad. But, perspiration evaporates FAST, so one needs be careful with water and salt balance. Here in south Sweden it's about 23 degrees, but humid. Very uncomfortable. Keep up the good work. :-)

Well thank goodness climate change is a myth otherwise we'd be in big trouble. We've been having a heat wave here in California recently. Fortunately my home has plaster walls which keep me comfortable without AC. Your post work really pushes home the point.

"My ideal temperatures are 20-23 C max." absolutely but I have no choice, I have it under good authority the melting point of your average Irish man is 30C

I've learned something quite interesting in my travels. When I'm home in Washington, I can't stand anything over about 74F (23C), and that's outdoors in the shade. Other parts of the country aren't quite so uncomfortable at that temperature. I thought it might be humidity, but that isn't the case. The humidity here is showing at 53% today. The desert can run from about 5% to 25% humidity, which makes me feel a bit sick no matter the temperature. When we're in Texas, I'm quite comfortable outdoors in the shade at 78 or 80F, and the humidity is similar to what we have in Washington. I've decided it's the breeze. We have very little wind here in Washington where I am, but in Texas it's breezy all the time. I do suffer in the heat ... always have, even as a child. When Bill and I got married, my brother said to Bill, "Don't take my sister anywhere hot, she doesn't do well!" Not "She's hard to get along with when crossed," or "Don't drive too fast," or anything you might expect one's brother to say to one's future husband. Nope ... it was about the heat. :P
